The boutique hotel is tucked between the lavish neo-Baroque Poznanski Palace dating back to 1903 and Manufaktura, a redbrick factory complex that typifies the town’s extensive industrial infrastructure and heritage. It is behind the hotel’s glass façade and within its interiors that the cultural forces behind Łódź’s past, industry and cinema, are echoed in London-based multidisciplinary design agency Superfutures’s interior design. Their retro and contemporary references meet a post-industrial chic aesthetic creating a cosmopolitan and hip address that interweaves past and present to project a picture of the future.

For the interiors, Superfutures settled on a European-centric mix of classics juxtaposed to custom accents such as the chromatic 1960s-inspired carpet in the cinema and conference room, where fully upholstered Preludia Chairs designed by Brad Ascalon grand a touch of lightness to teal blue walls dotted with vintage posters. Guest rooms and suites have been rendered in more neutral palettes – millwork in pale tones, white ceramic tiles in the bathrooms, and pastel blue hues. Inside, icons by Hans Wegner – the CH07 Shell Chair and the CH25 lounge chair – set a cozy mood while creating a contemporary urban ambiance.
